When I was in college one of my mentors would often say Brittany, you need to be like Alabama Power “always-on”. The first time she said this I didn’t get it but after she broke it down it’s something I always live by.
When you step outside of your home, your appearance should always be together. You never know who you will see or who is watching you. I know you may not be feeling this but just think🤔 every time you just “run out” is when you see someone you really didn't want to see you looking that way. It’s crazy right 🤷🏾♀️ but it always happens. Now what’s even crazier is, often people see us that we don’t realize are important to our future. And this is really why appearance is everything and you should always be on.
Looking your best at all times not only is important for your future but it makes you feel good. As Primetime would often say when you look good, you feel good, when you feel good, you play good and when you play good, they pay good! So, take pride in yourself, your looks, and your behavior. It can make or break you. A quick trip to the grocery store, or just going to class could easily change the trajectory of your life. You never know who is around you, walking the same halls as you so please just like Alabama power you must always be on!
Let me leave you with a story... I was at an event on the campus where I work and one of the students was practically naked. People around were talking about the young lady but I went to go and speak with her. Well, she cursed me out and honey I mean out out. So, I just politely walked away. As fate would have it two days later, this same student strolled into my office for a job interview. When she saw me her mouth hit the floor. Needless to say, she didn’t get that job. On paper, she was a great candidate but what I experienced on the quad was a total turn off...
Now I said that to simply remind you, you never who is watching you so please always be on!
