Work and Pray

A few days ago, I posted a blog and repeatedly said to be specific in your prayers and if you ask God, he will give you the desires of your heart. Well to my surprise that didn’t go over well with a lot of people.

I received tons of messages saying I prayed but God didn’t answer me or hear my cry. It was a bit disheartening to read however the more I listened the more I figured out what the problem was.

Everyone wants their miracle right now. Nobody and I mean nobody wants to do their part. You are in a relationship with God and just as in any other relationship you have to give something to get something.

God is not a genie, and this is not a microwave. You can’t rub his belly or push a button to have instant gratification. The Bible says to wait on the Lord! Do not rush him. No matter how long it takes he is still your Jehovah Jirah.

Most importantly You’ve got to WORK!!! Faith without work is dead! You ask God for what you want/need then you do the work. If you do your part, he will do his part to fulfill your needs. James 2:14-26

I know that was a lot and not what you wanted to hear....buuuuuutttttt just remember this, your prayers are being answered just not in the manner/time that you want. Do the work and let God do the rest. Or as I like to say Pray, Plan, Act.

It took me 3 years of praying, applying, and interviewing before God gave me a new opportunity. The blessing came in God's perfect timing. I believed in him and was a good steward of what I had.

Oh, and remember be prepared for what you’re asking for!
